I am experiencing the same phenomenon. I have two Dell PE2950's that are serving as MS Virtual Server 2005 hosts. Each server has 4 VMs which share the host CPUs equally.

At 12:01PM each day the CPU of the host gradually climbs to about 90% - 95% for approximately 5-7 minutes. The VM CPUs are also affected during this time similarly. The process causing this issue is the VSSRVC.EXE. I know this service is the Virtual Server Service but other than that I'm not sure why it is firing off at noon each day.

Any info in regards to this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

max
